Spring, is that you?

Spring fashion - styling the classic white shirt

I have given this blog post a somewhat sceptical name as I am actually writing this post while it is snowing outside. Yes. Snowing. Thanks, bizarre Scottish weather. Nevertheless, I am going to be talking all about Spring fashion today and this little outfit that I wore at the weekend.

The cherry blossoms have bloomed in Glasgow somewhat early (what with the snow and all that..) so I hot footed it down to Glasgow Green at the weekend to get some snaps before they disappear. If you’re local, I’d highly recommend making the trip before the weather gets to them. It really is so beautiful to see such bright pink flowers in a usually rather dull-coloured area.

I have been absolutely desperate to wear my Spring clothing for the past month as I am getting rather sick of putting on my down coat everyday. I have to say, it really isn’t very warm in Glasgow yet but I have just been suffering the cold for the sake of Spring fashion. I know that sounds silly, but it has honestly been lifting my mood so much to put on some lighter clothing.

I took this Karen Millen frilly white shirt for its first outing at the weekend. I have actually bought this to wear to my Graduation ceremony (sorry Mum, promise I haven’t got any makeup on it) but couldn’t resist wearing it at least once before then. I don’t have anything else like this in my wardrobe, but I am so in love with it.

Even though it is a bit louder than the average white shirt, I think it is quite versatile. I’ve paired it with some Topshop tassel hem jeans and my new blush pink, faux-leather jacket from Marks and Spencer to keep things casual. But I’m planning on pairing it with a pencil skirt and heels for my graduation ceremony and I also think it would look amazing with a structured blazer as a workwear look.

I am hoping and praying that the weather improves in Glasgow so that I can finally wear my Spring clothing without being chilled to the bone! I’d like to create a lot more style-related content for my blog too and it is always so much easier when it’s warmer outside.

Spring fashion - styling the classic white shirt

Spring fashion is definitely one of my favourites and I’m excited about the season ahead! I have also been updating my Instagram feed (you can find me here!) to look a bit more Spring-like, which I am loving at the moment!

I have lots of content planned for the next few weeks, which I am so excited to get creating. I’ve been so busy with uni work at the moment that I’ve just not had the time to keep up with blogging – so apologies for the longer time between posts! There will be style, beauty, travel & recipe posts coming your way soon. Promise!
