A Skincare Update
I’ve got to be honest, recently my skincare routine hasn’t exactly been very consistent. I’ve been travelling, moving house & getting knee surgery this summer so making sure that I had a water-tight skincare regime wasn’t exactly high in my list of priorities.
However, since being at home recovering from my surgery I’ve had the time to re-evaluate what I was putting on my skin and also had the chance to pick up (READ: online shop for) some new skincare bits.
Caudalie Vinosource Serum
This was actually a repurchase for me as this is my favourite serum ever. It’s full name is the Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum and it does exactly as it says on the tin. I normally use it in the day-time before moisturising as it is such a thin, light texture which works perfectly under make-up but still gives my skin that boost of hydration that it really needs. Honestly this is one of the best skin-care products I’ve ever used and I would recommend it to anyone – I’ve went through 3 others before purchasing this one!
Garner Oil-Infused Cleansing Water
I’ve previously used the original micellar water that Garnier brought out and liked it so when they brought out this oil-infused version I was curious. I am a die-hard Bioderma user and have been for around 4 years now, but I have to say that this has overtaken it. While I love Bioderma for being so sensitive on my eyes whilst still being effective, this offering from Garnier removes make-up seamlessly, doesn’t irritate my eyes but also leaves my skin feeling nourished – almost as if I’d used an oil or balm cleanser. Also it’s biggest plus is the price – I believe it is £5.99 but I got this on offer in Tesco for half price. Sorry Bioderma, but you can’t argue with that.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
This was another repurchase for me – my boyfriend very kindly brought this back from France for me (as it is a lot cheaper over there!). This is the best toner/hydration/refreshing spray in my opinion – the scent is just unrivalled. I also use this if I feel nauseous, as the scent really calms me down.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Serum
I picked this serum up from Marks & Spencer when they were doing 20% off their beauty department with a Sparks card (which is a really great loyalty card if you love M&S!). I’ve previously used the Milky Mist from the same range & really liked it so I thought I’d give this a go. I use this in the evenings as it is a bit heavier than the Caudalie serum, although not by much. It feels very nice on the skin & I think it does the job quite well. I think it’s quite a decent price as well for a higher-end skincare brand at £26 full price – it’s just as good as much more expensive serums that I’ve used in the past.
