May Goals 2018.

May goals 2018

Well hello there May, you creeped up on us quick didn’t you? Not that I’m complaining – bring on the milder weather and spring blooms! A new month means new goals, so I am back again with my May goals 2018. After skipping April, I’m ready to get back on track with goal-setting and getting some stuff done!

April was possibly the worst month I’ve had in a while – I’ve had some stuff on that I’ve had to focus on above other things (namely, blogging) which meant that I skipped writing my April goals post. I wrote a post all about the future of Sartorial Scot which will give some context to what’s been going on recently, so I’d suggest giving that a read first.

Right now, my focus is on getting my ‘mojo’ back (I hate that word, but alas other words fail me). I’ve been so busy with other stuff that I’ve kind of let the things that I really want to do fall by the wayside. So I’m working on getting my motivation back and being a bit more positive this month.

Work on Sartorial Scot again

So I basically took the entire month of April off of blogging, which wasn’t planned, but just somehow happened. I was also super behind on social as well – my Instagram posts have been 5 days apart sometimes which for me is kind of unheard of!

This month I am going to be putting way more effort into blogging and everything associated with it. As I said in my future of Sartorial Scot post, my primary focus at the moment is my career, so I won’t be dedicating every waking moment to blogging right now but I am definitely going to do a lot more than I did last month.

Create a business plan

This has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while, but just have not had the time to get around to. I’d like to come up with some sort of a plan for my blog/social/etc that is a bit more long-term. I think this will give me the structure I need to get things done with the limited time that I have.

I feel like since I moved to London I’ve just been trying to aimlessly plod along with blogging as there’s been so much other stuff going on. So I’m going to put the time in this month to sit down and actually think about where I want all of this to go and how it’s going to tie in with my career as well.

I have a lot of ideas at the moment, which is exciting, so I need to get them all down on paper! If anyone has any tips or resources they can recommend for creating business plans, please let me know as I could probably do with the help.

Reach out to people

I’ve spoken about my desire to make new friends before in these goals posts and I do think I’ve made some progress over the past few months, but not as much as I’d like. To be honest, I get quite shy when it comes to actually making dates to meet up with people. I don’t know what it is, maybe some sort of insecurity over people not liking me, but I find it hard to make the first move.

So this month I’m going to make a conscious effort to message people and get dates in the diary. What have I got to lose, eh?

I think I might write about my struggles with friendships at some point – although it is something I’ve hesitated over as it is such a personal thing for me. Is this something you’d like to read? Let me know..

Find balance

This title sounds very new age for me, but what I mean by this is that I’d like to have a bit more of a balanced month between relaxing – having fun – working – learning. April was an intense month for me, so I feel so ready to destress and have a bit more fun this month.

Of course, there will still be lots of work and productive things going on but I want to make sure I’m actually doing things that make me happy as well. I have some nice stuff planned on the weekends in May, including my first festival of the year, so I’m looking forward to that.

So those are my May goals for 2018. I’m hoping it’s going to be a better month than last, with a good mix of getting shit done and also having a good time. I think the time is going to go quick, especially considering that we have not 1 but 2 bank holiday weekends this month. Why can’t all months be more like May?!
