September Goals.

It’s finally September! I know the normal thing to say at the start of every month is ‘oh my, how is this year going so fast!’ etc, etc.. but I feel like I’ve been waiting for the end of summer for so long. We are moving into Autumn (my favourite season!) and I feel like it’s a new start somehow. So I’m going to share my September goals with you all!

The summer has been really busy for me, between moving to London and starting full time work. But I finally feel settled, so now I can actually plan and set goals for myself again in other areas of my life. September still has all those back to school feels for me, as usually I’d be preparing for a new term at uni. This year, I’m seeing it as my ‘get your shit together’ month…

Get into a routine with blogging/YouTube.

The past couple of months have been a bit all over the place for me when it comes to creating content. I’m still quite proud of myself for getting something out there every week, but now I want to get back to my usual frequency of posts. I’ve been falling behind on scheduling tweets, using Pinterest and using Instagram so I need to get back onto that as well.

My plan is to come up with a schedule of the tasks that I have to do for blogging & YouTube every week, so that I can fit everything in around my job. I’m thinking that ‘big’ jobs like taking photos and filming videos have to be done on weekends and then the other ‘small’ things (that actually take up a lot of time!) can be done in the evenings when I get home. Balancing a blog with full time work is so hard, but I’m trying not to make excuses anymore.

Working on my health & fitness.

Since the move and work etc, I’ve definitely fallen off the fitness bandwagon. I joined a gym here, but it’s a bit tricky to fit it in before/after work without me either getting up at 5am or getting home at 8pm. Now that I have very little downtime during the week, I see this as precious time that I don’t want to give up.

However, I do need to get myself moving. I work in an office, so I’m sat down for 8 1/2 hours of the day and I’m starting to feel the effects on my body. I also want to make some healthier changes in my diet – nothing too drastic, I just want to be eating a bit better. My goal for this month is to get into a routine of working out 2-3 times a week and eating healthily around 80% of the time (a girl’s got to have pizza in her life, y’know?).

Decorating our flat.

This is something I’m very excited about! For the past month we’ve been unpacking boxes, waiting on furniture deliveries and returning unwanted homeware items to our landlord. It’s taken quite a bit of time, especially as we all work full time and only have evenings/weekends to sort things out. But finally all of the furniture is in place and the flat is clear of any clutter. So now we get to properly decorate!

On the agenda is to replace Max and I’s (hideous) headboard, style our new bookshelves, reorganise and decorate my dressing table and sort out our bar cart. I will be sharing interiors updates here and also on my YouTube channel eventually, but in the meantime the best place to see little peeks into my home is on Instagram. Be prepared to see a lot of homeware hauls very soon…

See more of London.

I think the no.1 question I’ve been asked since I moved here is “have you been seeing much of London? What have you been doing on the weekends?”. To be honest, I’ve been really busy since I got here so I’ve not really had a chance to see a lot yet. But now that I’m more settled, it’s about time that I go out and see more!

I also have quite a few friends moving here over the next couple of weeks, which will be so nice. I think my life here will be a lot different (and better!) when I have people here that I can do things with, other than my boyfriend and brother of course. If you know of any must-do/must-see things in London, please let me know!
