Sunday Catch-Up #4.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these little catch-up posts, and a lot has happened over the past few months, so I thought I’d update you all on the goings-on in my life!

I’m actually sitting pool-side at Max’s parents place in the South of France right now, so life is pretty good. I know blogging on holiday isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, but I really love it! I find it quite relaxing to just sit in the sun (well.. in the shade) and start writing.

Living in London

I talked about going through some big life changes and transitions in a recent post, one of them being moving to London. I’ve been living in the big smoke for a month now, so everything just feels so normal. Don’t get me wrong, there are some things I really miss about being in Scotland (e.g being able to afford to live lol) but I do really love London.

There are so many new places to see and explore in London, which really excites me. I want to make an effort to do things most weekends, even if the temptation is just to sit around and do nothing when I’m not at work!

One thing I’d also like to do is make some new friends. To be honest, I don’t really know many people in London right now. I have a few friends moving down in September to start jobs, so that’ll be nice when they get here, but I’d also like to get to know some new people. So if you’re London-based and ever fancy a coffee or brunch partner, let me know!

Is summer over yet?

My god, I am sick of sticky tube journeys and planning outfits around what will make me chafe the least. I am so, so ready for it to be Autumn. I can’t wait for the weather to cool down, for boots to be acceptable footwear again and for all the autumnal candles to come into the shops. It’s literally all I think about!

I’ve never really been much of a summer girl – I don’t like the clothes and I always find the British summer to just be sticky, wet and uncomfortable. The only thing I’ll miss is the longer evenings for taking photos. I’m not looking forward to squeezing in all my blog-photo shoots into the weekend again!

YouTube?

So I haven’t put up a new video on my YouTube channel for far too long. I had planned to do moving vlogs and all that sort of thing, but to be honest the move to London was really rushed and quite stressful so it just wasn’t the right time to pick up the camera.

Since then, it’s just felt more difficult to get motivated to sit down and film something. The longer I stay away from it, the more difficult it’s going to get. So my plan for September is to get back into the swing of filming. I have to get brainstorming some ideas though – I don’t really know where to start. So if you have any requests for videos you’d like to see, please do let me know!

Working 9-5.

Well, actually 9-5:30. I am well and truly into the full time work life now and I think I’m starting to get used to it. I do really miss the flexibility of Uni life, especially being able to blog a lot more, but it’s quite nice to have the boundaries of when work starts and ends. Last year I was doing work on weekends and evenings, so if I ever had downtime I always felt guilty.

Now I just really appreciate any time that I have away from work. Evenings and weekends are now so precious! I’m currently on holiday in the South of France and it’s just so lovely to know that I don’t have to get on the tube and go to work on Monday. Or the rest of the week. It is blissful!

So that was a little catch-up from me. I feel like there isn’t really anything exciting going on in my life at the moment, now that all the exciting stuff like graduation and the move to London are over. But I’m looking forward to having a bit more stability in my life and allowing myself to adjust to all the changes that have happened.

I’m still trying to get back into the swing of blogging regularly since starting full time work (why is it just so damn hard?!) but I’m hoping that there will be at least 2-3 posts going out every week. I really don’t want to let things slip because to be honest, I feel like I need a creative outlet now more than ever!
