My Favourite Christmas Films

As today is Christmas Eve Eve, I thought I’d pop up a little mini festive post. I’ve been winding things down for the past week so that I can take some time to relax and become re-inspired for the New Year. Therefore I thought I’d share my personal favourite Christmas Films that I look forward to watching year after year, so that maybe some of you can decide what you watch this weekend!

Love Actually

This one is an absolute classic and probably a bit obvious, but I just had to include it. Max and I watch this together every year as it’s his favourite Christmas film and it’s one of my favourites too. The music is great, the cast is incredible and I just don’t think things get much more festive than Hugh Grant dancing around no.10.

It’s A Wonderful Life

Another well-loved Christmas film, this time a much older one. I love old black and white films – my mum and I have watched old Hollywood films since I was little so they make me feel so nostalgic! This year I’m going to see It’s A Wonderful Life at the Grosvenor Cinema in Glasgow on Christmas Eve with my mum so it’s going to be so lovely carrying on our tradition that way this year.

The Holiday

This has become an absolute favourite of mine in recent years. I adore Kate Winslet and her storyline in this film as both unlucky in love & a companion to the cutest little old man totally warms my heart. The soundtrack is also amazing and always makes me feel so festive.

The Bishop’s Wife

I saved the best for last. You probably haven’t heard of this one, but it is my all-time favourite Christmas Film. Another one that is in black & white, it’s a story about an overworked Bishop who is visited by a guardian angel (the always dreamy Cary Grant) to help him reconnect with his wife. My mum used to watch this as a child with my grandmother, and so we’re continuing on the tradition now by watching it every Christmas Eve. It’s just the most uplifting, festive and wonderful film – I highly recommend watching it if you have the chance!

So those are my favourite Christmas films! It’s just a little mini post today – I am in fact writing this with a prosecco in-hand, so I am going to get back to the festive celebrations now. However, I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful Christmas and I want to thank all of you for reading this little blog this year. I’m so excited to make lots of new & exciting content in the New Year!
