Today I thought I’d talk about a little go-to comfortable summer outfit that I have been loving recently! I am not a huge fan of summer dressing – as a curvy/chunky (whatever you want to call me) gal, the summer presents some challenges in terms of my fashion choices.
I love wearing dresses (and I’ve had a love affair with long midi dresses recently, more to come on that..) in the summer, but they can prove a little uncomfortable sometimes because of chaffing. Yeah, it’s all glamour around here! The same goes for denim shorts and cute little skirts.
Therefore, when I can’t quite bring myself to put on the traditional summer clothing, I turn to the item that never lets me down: white jeans. White jeans really save me in the summer as they keep you cooler than dark jeans, they look quintessentially ‘summery’ and also they go with a lot of different things!
These jeans are from Comptoir des Cotonniers and are a sort of boyfriend-fit. They are very comfortable – although they don’t really look like a boyfriend fit on me (thighs are too large!) but I don’t really mind that. They aren’t too thick either – they are definitely a summer jean.
I’ve paired it with this pink top from Mango which has been one of my most-worn items this summer. Again, it’s very comfortable and I love how the sleeves are a bit flared out! I’ve worn it underneath a white linen dress as well, which you would be able to see on my Instagram.
I’ve also been loving this Radley wristlet bag* which has come in very handy for evenings out. It is like a clutch bag, but it has card slots inside the bag meaning that I don’t have to bring out a purse with me! It also has lovely rose-gold detailing, which is always a winner.
I’ve linked all the items (and some alternatives!) down below if you’d like to check them out! I’ve found myself shopping quite a lot recently as the weather has been getting warmer – it’s always at this time of the year that I realise I don’t have anything suitable for the heat!
So that was my little comfortable summer outfit that I’ve been loving! I’m trying to prepare lots of summer fashion content at the moment, so hopefully there will be more style posts to come. I feel like I have to step up my game a bit when it comes to blog content, I’m feeling quite ‘meh’ about everything at the moment. I’ve been really busy and travelling a lot recently, but I don’t want to use those as excuses!
Let me know what you love to wear in the summer time and what your go-to is when it gets hot outside. I always like to get new ideas!
