My first taste of.. | Charlotte Tilbury

Can we hurry up and get a Charlotte Tilbury counter in Glasgow already?

When I went to London recently, the one of the main things on my to-do list was to visit the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges. I’ve wanted to try her make-up for ages but with no where to swatch or try out the products up here, I had to wait until I could see them in the flesh. And I was not disappointed…
Light Wonder Foundation
I was actually recommended this product by none other than Lily Pebbles when I met her at a Beauty Chat Live event in Space NK back in February. I was looking for a foundation that was really light and didn’t have too much coverage, but that wasn’t a tinted moisturiser (I have enough of those). Foundation is something that I just couldn’t buy online without getting colour matched first so I waited patiently until I was in the capital to finally get my hands on this. The verdict? Lily was right – it is light, but quite build-able and it looks incredible on the skin. If you don’t like heavy foundations but want something with a little bit extra than a tinted moisturiser, this is perfect!
The Dolce-Vita Palette
Just look at it. I really don’t think the above picture does it any justice, but this palette is so so beautiful. I’d heard a lot about it in the blogosphere and was desperate to try it out. Nowadays I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow, but when I do I love reddish-brown shades and this fits the bill perfectly. When I did a little red-smokey eye with this even my boyfriend commented on how nice it was. When boys notice make-up, you know it’s serious.
Now I have to say, Charlotte Tilbury isn’t the cheapest of brands. These two products came to about £70 which my boyfriend almost fainted at… But honestly, compared to other products that I’ve tried from similar-priced luxury brands, they are so worth it. The quality, the packaging, everything is spot on. And of course now I know my shade, there’s nothing to stop me making an online order or 2…
