Oh my, Burberry. You guys have no idea how excited I was to receive this delivery. I’ve been lusting after Burberry make up for months now, and after watching a marathon of those Cara Delevingne make up tutorials on YouTube, I took the plunge. And I am overjoyed by these products.
First up, the Lip Cover in Nude Rose. I saw this being applied to Queen Delevingne in a video and just had to have it. It’s a perfect nude for me (i’m not a big fan of foundation lips) just about the colour of my lips but just better. The formulation is actually beautiful – creamy, almost like butter, smooth and with a nice finish that isn’t too shiny. It’s not the most long-wearing lipstick, but for an everyday lip colour I’d say it lasts around an hour or two which is alright in my opinion.
Next, and my new obsession, is the Light Glow Earthy Blush. I’ve been wanting a nude blush for so long and this has just exceeded all my expectations. Seriously. It’s not too dark – it’s just slightly darker than what I’d wear in a face powder to be honest – but it just perfectly adds some depth to my complexion and very subtly contours my cheeks. If you buy anything Burberry, buy this. It’s a serious game-changer.
Finally, the Complete Eye Palette in Pink Taupe. Now, I umm’ed and ahhh’ed over buying this as online the colour selection has had mixed reviews. However, to me the colours are very appealing and a welcome change from the generic neutrals I wear everyday while still being subtle. The formulation is incredible – buttery soft, just pigmented enough (pigment does not automatically make an eyeshadow amazing, in my opinion). In the picture above I used all four, but quite sparingly. It makes an amazing, earthy kinda smokey eye (very Cara D if you ask me) which is right up my street. I have been using this everyday since I got it, both for day and night-time looks.
On a side note, the small brushes that come with both the blush and palette are of a really good quality and are actually useable unlike most that come with make up. Burberry Beauty you get a huge thumbs up from me, and I will most definitely be purchasing more from the range.
