November Goals.

November goals

Another month has passed by and along with it Halloween, pumpkins and (really) all things Autumnal. November has arrived with colder weather and festive coffee cups, both of which I have been enjoying immensely! So as I do every month, I thought I’d share my November goals and plans for the month ahead.

I feel like October was the fastest month ever. I always find that the summer months drag on and then we get to this point in the year and it’s like Autumnal for 5 seconds then it’s Christmas. I’m not complaining though – I’m really looking forward to the festive season and I’m wanting to start doing some Christmassy things this month.

Meet new people

I’ve been living in London now for around 4 months, but things have been so busy since I moved here that I’ve not really had much time for socialising or really getting to know new people at all. I came to this realisation over the past few weeks when we were thinking of what we could do for New Year and I couldn’t actually count that many people who I actually know here.

So I’m going to make it my mission this month to meet some new people and y’know, try to make some friends. I feel a little bit pathetic writing that, but I guess this is something that a lot of people who move to a new city go though. I do find it a bit nerve-wracking to approach people and be like “hey, lets hang out!”, so I definitely need to work on my confidence a bit.

I’d love to meet up with other London-based bloggers though, I really don’t know anyone here yet – at least not in real life. So if you get a bit of a lame message from me asking to meet up for brunch, I promise I’m not too much of a loser – I just want to make some new friends!

Get my Christmas shopping done

So now we go from the deep, meaningful goal to the totally frivolous one. But yes, I fully intend to get my Christmas shopping done by the end of November.

I am very much a planner – I like to think of things far in advance and make sure everything is perfect. Therefore, my gift giving strategy is no different. I plan everyone’s gifts out in advance, so that I have plenty of time before the festive season begins and I can just fully enjoy all the festivities without worrying about buying last-minute gifts.

I also like to wait for discount days to buy my Christmas gifts (a gal has to be thrifty!) and I normally find November is the best month for these. There’s Black Friday deals at the end of the month and normally other smaller sales in-between, so it’s an ideal time to get shopping and saving money!

Get into a healthier routine

There always has to be a health/fitness goal every month, right? I feel like this is something I’ve been trying to get to grips with for a while, but this month I feel a bit more motivated to actually sort out my eating habits and get into more of a routine with the gym.

I’ve fallen into bad habits of bailing out of going to the gym last-minute, because I’m too tired or I had a cold etc etc.. So this month I’m going to try to make a little exercise plan for myself to follow every week. I find that I respond quite well to routines, so I think that by actually planning out when I’ll work out every week will help me actually stick to it.

As for healthy eating, it is the festive season approaching so it’s all about balance. I’ve made a bad habit of grabbing a croissant for breakfast at Sainsbury’s on the way to work, rather than waking up a bit earlier to make myself something more nutritious. So I want to find some quick, healthy breakfast recipes that I can make in the mornings. Any recommendations welcome!

Reflect on the future of Sartorial Scot

This sounds a bit ominous, but don’t worry I’m not going to be quitting blogging or anything like that. But I do want to have a think about where I fit in the blogging world and how I want to progress with all this in the future.

I’ve been blogging for over 5 years now, but only ‘seriously’ for just over a year. In that time I feel like my style of content has changed quite a lot and I’ve learned a lot too. My photos aren’t quite so basic and I’ve got more confident with my writing as well. But I still have so much I want to improve on.

I’d like to think about what type of content I want to focus on in the future and also how I’m going to share it. I’ve dabbled in YouTube for just over 2 years now and I’m not sure if I want to leave it or give it another shot. Instagram is probably my most engaged platform, but my growth is so slow on there. I love Twitter, but I don’t really focus on it as something I have to grow. All of these are things I have to address and make decisions on how I’m going to progress with them.

For lack of a better phrase, I just really want to get my shit together when it comes to blogging and everything else.

So that was yet another monthly ramble about my goals and plans. I do really enjoy creating these posts though, as they kind of give me something to work towards!

Let me know what you’re planning on doing this month and if there are any specific goals you’re working towards. I feel like my December goals next month are going to be much less serious – it’s going to be all about drinking mulled wine and eating mince pies!
